AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill™
Ultimate Performance Enhancement
We are very fortunate to have an AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill™ in the Sports Complex at Weetwood Hall. Developed with NASA technology, the AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill™ improves and enhances athletic training, and aids rehabilitation following injury.
What is the AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill™ ?
AlterG® is a machine that combines precise partial weight bearing exercises along with real-time gait analytics and video feedback, empowering people to defy the forces of gravity by moving in new ways and without pain. The pressurised air chamber reduces gravitational load, enabling patients and athletes to recovery faster from injury and/or train better.
What are the benefits?
From althletes who are seeking to train smarter for peak performance, to patients recovering from injury, the benefits of the AlterG® are wide-reaching and include:
- Minimising stress-related and recurring injuries
- Reduced impact training and athletic injuries
- Strength and conditioning
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Weight control and reduction
- Improving wellness
We work closely with physiotherapists from local professional sports teams who can provide you with a training programme that is tailored exactly to your needs. The AlterG® is located in a private room which is also equipped with a hydraulic physiotherapy bed.
Physiotherapists are welcome to hire the AlterG® for 30-minute private sessions. It's ideal for athletes (eg: rugby, football, cricket, cycling, swimming, tennis), dancers (eg: ballet and contemporary), and patients recovering from spinal injuries and post-surgery.
