Tips on what to do on the Jubilee Bank Holiday in Leeds!

 Bank holiday weekends are the best. It’s a time to relax, spend time with family & friends and for some of us a chance to get the kids out of the house.

With the Jubilee bank holiday quickly approaching (4th & 5th June), we thought we would give you some ideas on what to do, if visiting the vibrant city of Leeds during the Queen’s Jubilee. After all shouldn’t we all take advantage of having the Monday & Tuesday off work?

Leeds is packed with things to do, so whether you live here or you’re visiting  you wont be disappointed. Why not look into the following to make your bank holiday weekend one to remember.

Leeds City Museum

Cecil Beaton Diamond Jubilee Show

An exhibition from the V&A has just opened at Leeds City Museum, featuring portraits of Queen Elizabeth II by Royal photographer Cecil Beaton.

Roundhay Park is a wonderful destination for walks, games and picnics.

Why not enjoy a Jubilee picnic at Roundhay Park? Depending on the weather you can enjoy its beautiful grounds and have a walk around the lake too. Kids can also enjoy playing their favourite outdoor games whilst the adults take in the fresh air and relax.

Within walking distance from the park, Tropical World is one of the most popular garden attractions in the UK and has the largest collection of tropical plants other than Kew Gardens.

Leeds & Liverpool Canal

If you prefer a sporty bank holiday, then why not take a step back from all the Jubilee celebrations and opt for a hiking/biking experience.

The Leeds & Liverpool Canal has a distance of 127 miles/204km.  It crosses the Pennines to link both cities together and has some fantastic routes suitable for waking or biking.
