'You are hired' Apprentice star visits Weetwood Hall!
Kristina Grimes, finalist of the BBC's The Apprentice last week visited Weetwood Hall to enthuse the team through the recession. Kristina, who came second in the 2007 series, was 'hired' by the hotel to relate her experiences, motivations and life with Sir Alan Sugar to inspire the team to tackle the financial challenges that lie ahead with passion and enthusiasm.
The visit was organised by Peter Chubb, the hotel's General Manager as part of a wider mission to maintain morale during the difficult recession that lies ahead. This began when he attended two of the industry's major forums - the Venuemasters annual conference and the Classic British Hotels forum, where talks were given by industry consultants, financial wizards and a motivational talk by the TV guru, Geoff Burch.
The conferences inspired Peter to relay these messages to his team, which saw an “On Track for 2009" presentation to Weetwood Hall staff where it was agreed that the priorities were to maintain standards, continue with investment, work strictly within financial forecasts and concentrate predominantly on delivering excellent customer service.
Following “On Track", Peter then appointed Maxima Training to present sales workshops for the managers and supervisors, their maxim being “Business is Darwinism - only the fittest survive". The theme of the workshops was based on everyone working together towards the same goal, communicating effectively and understanding the customer with the end goal being “to always think about the client; what is in their best interest".
Peter Chubb, General Manager of Weetwood Hall commented: 'Customer service is at the heart of what we do and this is true now more than ever before. We are aware that the hospitality industry faces tough times ahead but we have a superb team at Weetwood Hall who excel in looking after our guests. We want our staff to be motivated and continue to offer the very best to our customers so we are always looking to go that extra mile to encourage a thriving team.'
