Industry accolade for Weetwood Hall - Excellence in Marketing Award in the HRS Excellence Awards
The award-winning Weetwood Hall Conference Centre & Hotel in Leeds has achieved another industry recognition in the third HRS.com Hotel Excellence Awards in association with the British Hospitality Association (BHA), Institute of Hospitality, The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) and the Best Practice Forum.
The award Excellence in Marketing recognises Weetwood Hall's innovative way of attracting new business particularly from the corporate market. Weetwood Hall was presented with the award by Bob Cotton, chief executive of the BHA at the lunch ceremony hosted by Simon Calder, Travel Editor of The Independent, TV and Radio presenter on Wednesday 27th January 2010.
The judges commented: "A good illustration of how an independent venue can target a national audience with a strong offer in the face of stiff opposition from large coporate chain hotels. The new website, combined with extensive work on Search Engine Optimisation, is clearly an example of best practice in operation. The way in which they have been able to measure up and quantify their results makes this entry stand out from the others."
The HRS.com award follows the recent unveiling of an innovative Data Conferencing Suite that uses SMART technology to deliver a new breed of meetings in the conference centre of Weetwood Hall. The new suite along with the Ideas & Inspiration Room and Creative Thinking Room is part of the hotel's conference and meetings facilities. Users of the Data Conferencing Suite can benefit from the innovative technology that provides access for local and remote participants who can work and make notes on the same documents simultaneously.
