Get in the festive spirit with family and friends by meandering around the atmospheric German Market in Millennium Square. The ‘Christkindelmarkt’ is a festive tradition, giving visitors the chance to enjoy a German Christmas shopping experience.

With more than 40 stalls selling all kinds of goodies, you’ll be able to pick up some unique and interesting Christmas gifts for your loved ones. Take some time out between stalls and warm yourself up with a Frankfurter sausage, potato fritters and crepes, washed down with warming mulled wine, or a refreshing cider or beer.

Christmas Experience at Lotherton Hall

Invigorate young minds this Christmas by taking them to Lotherton Hall for a day of unforgettable magic and excitement. From 25 November until 23 December, the Christmas Experience is taking place at the Edwardian house and estate.

Enjoy an enchanting Twelve Days of Christmas Walk, meeting Santa’s elves in the Elf Village, and uncovering a hidden fairy sanctuary in the estate’s Rock Garden.

The Magical Lantern Festival Yorkshire

Roundhay Park, one of the largest parks in Europe, is the place to head to for a truly unforgettable festive experience this Christmas. With dragons as big as three buses and more than 40,000 light bulbs lighting up hordes of huge lantern displays, the Magical Lantern Festival Yorkshire, will enthral everyone who visits it.

Walk round a dramatically-lit lantern trail, lined with incredible lantern displays. Call in at the Food Village to warm up before heading to Santa’s Grotto to meet Father Christmas, or to the ice rink for some ice-skating fun. There is also a mini fun fair and a virtual reality experience at the Magical Lantern Festival Yorkshire at Roundhay Park.
