The Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show 2016


If you’re a self-confessed ‘foodie’ and are looking for a fun family weekend in foodie heaven, then take a trip to the Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show 2016. On 3 – 5 June, 2016, the Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show will take place in Millennium Square, Leeds, dubbed as flagship event of the Leeds Food and Drink Festival.

Now in its sixth year, this three-day show sees hundreds of food enthusiasts from around the UK and beyond gather in Leeds’ Millennium Square, in celebration of the finest ingredients and dishes created in Yorkshire.

This much-loved family event sees stalls selling mouth-watering street food from around the world being served right in front of you.

What’s on at this year’s Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show 2016

Cookery classes are put on by cooks throughout the event. Demonstrations, workshops and talks will be held during the three days, such as Simon Thomas, an Artisan Bread Maker from the Lake District talking about his new book and baking bread. Karen Thomas from Catering Leeds will also be presenting a selection of health dishes for children on stage.

On the Saturday, Kevin Hughes, Chef Tutor at Leeds City College, will take to the stage, accompanied by a group of students that will assist the chef in his cookery demonstrations. Gyp and Salvo Dammone of Salvo’s Restaurant in Headingley will demonstrate how to make delicious Cucina Pavera on the Saturday.

On Sunday 5 June, more thrilling cookery demonstrations will take place throughout the day, including Simon Chappela, Head Tutor at Jamie’s Leeds – Ministry of Food, inspiring the audience to make three dishes – Spinach and Feta frittata, Risotto and Beef with a Black Bean Sauce.

Visitors to the Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show 2016 will have the opportunity to visit the hordes of local food producers and retailers that exhibit at the show to find out more about their products. This year’s show will be home to a diverse selection of food and drink stalls, ranging from olives and artisan bread, to organic fruit and vegetables, brownies and chocolates, and much, much more.

From Artemis Brew, an iced coffee with a big difference, to Masons Yorkshire Gin, there will be plenty of equally as delicious drinks to choose from to wash down the mouth-watering food on offer at this fantastic Leeds event.
