City Beach at Millennium Square
You can forget the Algarve, the Costa del Sol or Tenerife this summer, simply head to the captivating city of Leeds for your beach holiday break! Yes, you did read correctly, families can enjoy a fabulous beach experience as City Beach returns to Leeds’s Millennium Square this summer.
Back for its fourth season in Leeds, the highly popular City Beach bonanza enables children and adults to have fun and unwind on a beach in the middle of the city!
City Beach at Millennium Square is organised by International Funfairs in partnership with Leeds City Council. This year’s event will take on a new twist with a ‘cocoa cabana’ feature, the official Great Britain Fanzone for this year’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. A huge TV screen will bring all the action from the 2016 Olympic Games to the heart of Leeds, which city beach revellers can watch from the comfort of a deckchair on the real sand areas.
There will even be City Beach Radio broadcast during the event, playing an enthralling mix of classic summer hits.
Of course a visit to the beach would not be complete without some traditional seaside culinary delights, and a range of mouth-watering treats and refreshments, including hot food and ice-cream, will be available from this exciting city/beach setting.
Entrance to the City Beach in Millennium Square is free, with fees charged to access the attractions and rides.
This fun family event is taking place from Saturday 13 August until Sunday 4 September, 2016. The City Beach is open from 10:30 until 19:00 hours.
